Commercial Courses
AVT 205 - Flight-Commercial 1 (4 credits)*
*Prerequisites: AVT115 Corequisites: AVT201
Flying instruction and experience with an FAA- Part 141-approved fixed-base
operator. A minimum of 55 hours of instruction and/or experience
including dual and solo flight and pre-and post-
flight briefings is included. This course is the
second of two courses preparing students to pass the FAA
flight examination for the Commercial Pilot Certificate. A valid second
class medical certificate is required. The student must obtain a
commercial pilot certificate to complete this course.
This course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
AVT 215 - Flight/Commercial 2 (4 credits)*
*Prerequisites: AVT205 and AVT211
This is a continuation of the courses necessary for the Commercial Practical
test. It includes FAA required hours of instruction in a complex
aircraft, and flight experience including pre and post
flight briefings and the dual/solo flights necessary
to be recommended for the FAA Commercial Pilot
Practical Examination. For successful completion of the course the student
must obtain a Commercial Instrument Pilot Single Engine Land License
*AVT-216 - Flight Safety (3 credits)*
*Prerequisites: ENG101 Corerequisites: AVT211
This is a course in safe flight from proper pre-flight planning through the
requirements for accident reports. Sources include the Airman's
Information Manual, FAA Regulations, and FAA-sponsored
materials.
*AVT-217 - Legal Environment of Aviation (3 credits)*
*Prerequisite(s): AVT101, ENG101
This course is a study of the laws affecting the aviation industry,
including administrative agencies, liability, negligence, aircraft
accident reporting, airline, and various particular
applications.
